Guest guest
Then I must resent myself. I wasn't an exercise nut, I was an exercise junkie! I needed exercise like people need air. Our society has become lazy. People don't even get up to change the channel, why use the steps when there is an elevator? Most people in society are like this. I wasn't implying that everyone eats all the wrong things, but many do. People are starting to see/learn that the junk that they are eating can make them really sick, so they are changing their eating habits, exercising and taking care of themselves. It's a start. What do you do in that one workout? I wanted to pick up where I left off because I was so pissed. I did it for 3 days. You can bet that I was sick on that 4th day, but I wasn't giving up. I couldn't. You feel like a slug. I feel like my body is rotting and because of that I can't give up. Rhonda BTW.....I am not talking just about people with fibro & CFS. Health rebuttal Yea, you're gonna get bashed. Someone who has been an active, exercise nut before this debilitating condition hit will resent the implication that they're just lazy. Do I believe our nation as a whole has gotten 'less healthy'? Yes, but you're painting with an awfully broad brush. Personally, I've worked out at a gym for almost 20 years. At the time this condition hit I was at the gym everyday before work (3 a.m.!) running 4 miles and lifting weights. It gave me the energy and stamina I needed to work my 12 - 16 hour a day job and still take care of my husband and 4 children when I got home. For the most part, I've had to give up the gym. One workout can devastate me physically for 2 weeks. I hate not working out! I feel like a slug! And this is on top of the fact that the medication I was taking (Effexor) eventually caused a 60 pound weight gain. This is not from eating the wrong things. My diet was fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, salads, chicken, etc. This wonderful condition that we share changes everybody's life in many ways, different ways. Hopefully it can change us in good ways as well. I know I'm more patient with other people's shortcomings. Of course, they may have only been shortcomings in MY eyes before! Guest guest
Why are any of us sick with fibro? I exercise, but I do not eat right. Why do some feel better when they exercise and others feel worse? I developed fibro (at least that is what the doctor tells me) only after stopping all activity. I'm not so sure I even have fibro. Yes I hurt like hell, but I had none of the pressure points and they are still telling me its fibro. Make sense to anyone? Cuz it doesn't to me.
