Guest guest
Hello everyone, I was sitting at my computer and thinking how soon the dark season of the year will arrive. Our weather for the last couple of days has been foggy and overcast, and a bit on the cool side, so that made me think even more about the cold months. And, I thought, why not be more proactive about it, instead of just reacting to it and complaining about it? So, to that end, I am making plans to light up my life in any way I can. I don't do well with scented candles, but I do love the light they provide, so I am stocking up on nice ones to use in all the candle holders people have given me over the years. They provide warmth as well as light, and are a cheap source of pleasure in an expensive economy. Instead of moaning about doom and gloom during the winter storms, I can read, sew, converse, etc. by candlelight. What a concept! LOL I have scads of fabric stored in the garage cabinets, so why not stitch a colorful quilt or duvet cover for my room? THAT would certainly go a long way toward brightening up my life. I make them for my boys and friends, why not me? OK, I think I will. I can just work on it as I like, or not, as I like. Freedom of choice is lightening, too. I feel better already. My yard went to hell in a handbasket while I was medically incarcerated, so I can get those flower beds ready for the winter by digging and weeding in the evenings after sunset. Or, in the early mornings, before full sun, while the shade is still deep. And if, as may happen, we have to move because of changes being made by the owners, well, that's an opportunity to lighten our lives, too. Talk about a CLEAN SWEEP. Heehee. I would love to get rid of most of our possessions because they possess US, not the other way around. The boys would have cardiac arrests, but I would love it. So, my friends, I am taking charge once again of my life and how I approach it. I get these fits every now and again, and I usually accomplish a lot when the fit is on me. I'll keep you posted on my progress, or lack thereof. Love to you all, MM
