Guest guest
Age range: 47 Male/female: Female What are the symptoms? I get all the aches that go along with the disease. I'm 47 when I get up in the morning I feel like 90. I have problems with sleeping. The headaches. The depression. Has you illness been diagnosed? Yes, 3 years ago How long did you suffer before you got help? I got sick one long weekend and though it was the flu went to the Dr. and she thought that it was fibro she took some blood did some tests and had it confirmed. We don't know how long before that I had been suffering and putting it down to other things. Is there a time that you can remember when it started? Sure can as I mentioned in the last question that is the weekend that I can say for sure that I knew there was something more wrong than just the flu. Some of us have found lack of exercise we are overweight. Have you found this to be a problem also? Yes I am a bit overweight and I walk as much as I can but overall I do not get much exercise. Are you on disability? No I have tried but they are not very sympthetic to people with fibro. If you are any pointers for others trying to get on disability? None trying to get pointer for myself. What have you found that helps ease the pain, warm baths, medications etc.? I will stick to my meds. A lot of people don't like to take to many meds or to strong. I figure the only way that I am going to have some quality of life is to take the medication. Do you have sleep problems? How do you deal with it? Yes I have sleep problems. I have pills that I can take. I only take them when I really have to because I don't like the way they make me feel the next day. It's takes me quite while to get the cobwebs out of my head and be able to function normal. They make me feel like I dragging my butt the next day. Do you have family that understand: My family try to understand but the bottom line is they really don't know how I feel. They love me enough and stick by me. Some have found certain foods causes problems with CFS or Fibro, have you? I really have not noticed but I haven't paid much attention. I read alot of flyers saying that there are such as dairy products and anything with wheat. What type of Doctor have you found that has helped you the most? The doctor that I had was just wonderful, she was offered a great position at a hospital so off she went. I had to get myself another Dr. so I just picked one in the same Medical Centre. I do not like this Dr. He is not very understanding. He does not understand fibromyalgia and does not want to understand it. He has no sympathy for me at all sometimes he treats me like I'm a drug addict. I do not abuse any of my scripts and take them only when needed. I am looking for another Dr. at this time. It is not an easy process either they are not taking any new patients or they do not want to prescribe the medication.
