Guest guest
First of all, let me say I hesitated posting good news. I know so many of us are struggling and not doing well, and I didn't want to be insensitive to that. But then my darling husband reminded me that we all need to be hopeful and hear good things, and I remembered how I often get that same hope reading about those of us doing well. So I will share. I was diagnosed in September, and then got Lyme in October and was hospitalized. This put some testing on the back burner. I finally had a liver biopsy in January, which I got results for today. I also had labs yesterday. My biopsy shows zero intrahepatic involvement! I have some very mild chronic hepatitis, but no fibrosis, hemosiderosis, granulomas or malignancy. Negative for features of PSC. My labs were- Bili total 0.3 Bili Direct 0.0 Bili Indirect 0.4 AST 25 Alk Phos 70 ALT 28 Amylase 38 Lipase 91 My doc said that with no liver involvement thus far, my chances of ever needing a transplant went down dramatically. I know it also increases my odds for CCa, but I feel that is rare and have decided to not worry about it. He said this is about as good as one can get with this disease. Considering that when I found this board, I was pretty sure I was going to face an early death, this is almost more good news than I can handle lol. ee
