Guest guest
Many of you have written asking how Kathleen is doing. I just spoke with her this AM and she asked that I post a note from her. She had surgery planned last Thursday to replace her shunt --- however, due to the fact that her ventricles were very small, Drs. Bolognese and Milhorat decided to postpone that surgery----keep adjusting the shunt pressure ---- until the ventricles became larger. She had a CAT Scan yesterday that showed some improvement in the size of the ventricles so she is once again scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Kathleen is at North Shore and her husband has been with her since last Wednesday. She sounds like she is holding up pretty well but very eager to get this done and to return home. She has been down in NY/NJ for I think three weeks now. She was able to spend last weekend with our family in NJ (what a thrill that was with 2 feet of snow) and I think it helped her just to get out of the hospital for a few days. I will try to post tomorrow when I hear that her surgery is over. Let's all say a prayer for Kathleen because we know how hard it is to be away from home in a hospital but this has been a long time for her.
