It IS very contageous and will have to be controlled for a long time. There are only two medications to treat this FLAGYLL or VANCOMYCIN. The later of the two if taken by capsule is over $1000/month (it is a level 4 drug) with insurance (was in my case) Any way, I worked with a compounding drug pharmacy (Apathacary) that sells me the vancomycin powder that I mix with Sterile water in a syringe daily. I portion it out into the 4 doses and mix it with grape juice and he drinks it.
