Guest guest
Anita, Thanks for your response! You mention a good proboitic, can you tell me a good one to buy. I found this capsule one which I think is about the best (aside from eating it), at least according to my research. Any comments. Thanks again. Lori A. Re: Probiotics, kefer I take probiotics Yes, Kefer is the same stuff that you find in probiotics, so is live culture yoghurt, Danactive, etc. However, the amount that you get in a good probiotic is like eating a gallon of yoghurt. Anyone who has to take antibiotics should take something to replenish the good bacteria in the gut. Those of us who have to take antibiotics frequently find it even more beneficial. Guest guest
LoriI don't know the best probiotic. Every company says that their brand is the best. Some say that if it has a human strain it is the best, others say if it is refrigerated is it the best, and others say that if it is not need to be cooled, as this way it will never die. My point is that I don't think it is an answerable question. Just my two cents. Guest guest
Thanks, I know what you mean from my research. I did come accross Jordan Rubins product and wanted to suggest my Dad take it for his PSC. Has anyone ever heard anything bad about his products? Both of these products sound like they are a must and different than all the rest at least according to the description. I just don't want to order anything or suggest if for my Dad with PSC if it is dangerous for his condition. Guest guest
I suggest you search the archives for " VSL-3 " (or VSL#3). Many here have had excellent results. It IS fairly expensive ($80 USD), but may be covered by insurance. See http://www.news-medical.net/?id=11974 for an example of research done with it. 63% remission in UC patients, with no adverse effects! (I personally don't use it.) That actually makes it cheaper than any of the others (that I've found) when you compare equivalent doses. It comes in packets that would be pretty easy to split up if you didn't want to take a whole one, and it's working quite well for me. athan
