And it's only February! Ugh! 2009 has been VERY stressful so far! My husband was

hospitalized around the second week of January for cholangitis. They determined

then that it

was time to talk transplant. He was in the hospital for 6 days. He got out on a

Sunday and

had to go back the following Saturday. He was there another 6 days. Turns out

he'd gotten c

diff from all the antibiotics he was on the first time. He was sent home then

with a PICC line

that I had to give him antibiotics through until Feb 10. This last week he's

come down with a

fever again. He doesn't appear to be any more jaundiced than usual and he's not

in any pain.

He's thinking it's still the c diff. Anyway we saw his hepatologist on Wednesday

who put him

on Vancomyacin for the c diff (he just finished Flagyl) and ordered blood work

once a week

for the next 3 weeks and wanted to see him again in 2 weeks. Hubby called his

coordinator

this morning about the fever. She called back almost an hour ago and said the dr

wants to

admit him. Apparently they didn't have any beds right then but several patients

had just gone

home so they should have one soon-as soon as they get it cleaned. The hospital

is supposed

to call us when they have one available. Hubby was at work so I had to tell him

when he got

home. He's upset, understandably and doesn't want to go back. He gets major

anxiety about

being there alone and they don't allow anyone to stay over night. I know he

would love it if I

could stay there but honestly I'm glad they have that policy. I'm pregnant and I

need rest too.

This has been an extremely difficult 2 months. We are SO ready for him to get

listed and get

a new liver!
