Guest guest
OK, I have had a doctor suggest I should be tested for Restless Leg Syndrome. My wife had noticed that occasionally I " run " in my sleep, and I happened to mention it to the doc, and he sort of grabbed it and ran. He wants me to do a sleep study. This took me by surprise, and I didn't really react to it at the time, but the more I think of it, the more of a waste of time (and money!) it seems. Anyone have any opinions either way? I did ask him, so if I have it, how you treat it, and he reeled off a list of a dozen or so drugs I didn't recognize, but they had those patent drug names like roblotix, kumquatinol, etc that just make my skin crawl. Maybe it's the side effects in those ads: " If you suffer from Unspent Money Syndrome, ask your doctor if toxakill is right for you. Side effects are generally mild, and include indigestion, diarrhea, painful screaming death, dismemberment, bankruptcy, an extra arm growing from your forehead, bleeding from the eyeballs, and a tendency to confuse " rap " with " music " . Do not take toxakill if you are currently pregnant, plan to ever become pregnant, or if your mother was ever pregnant. Patients who are taking nostraplug, lotapain, or gonadie should not take toxakill without first naming their doctor as primary life insurance beneficiary. Toxakill may cause patients who ingest oxygenated hydrogen compounds to burst into flames; these usually die down in a few minutes. " Oops, went a little OT there. Anyway, the only drug I recognized was Valium. For a bit I was tempted to say something along the lines of, you know, of course they feel better, you gave them Valium. But I didn't. Another missed opportunity to be a smarta**. Anyway, opinions? My wife went ballistic when I told her. She said something along the lines of, so you move your feet a little when you sleep, big f(*&(ing deal. I have to say, I sort of agree. This smells funny to me. Thanks for replies... -- prr
