" The report was written by Pesticides Action Network (PAN), UFW and California rural Legal Assistance. There was great news coverage in English and Spanish media. Guest guest Posted September 25, 2002 Report Share Posted September 25, 2002 Hello all, I wanted to let everyone know that scholarships are still available through the National Center for Farmworker Health for researchers and students to attend the Midwest Migrant Farmworker Stream Forum in New Orleans in November. I have included all the information below and for an application form or for more information please contact a Zúñiga at zuniga@.... The deadline for the applications will be this Friday. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ --------------------------------------------------- Scholarship Opportunity The National Center for Farmworker Health has scholarship funds that have been made available through the Migrant Health Branch, Bureau of Primary Health Care to support attendance to this year’s Midwest Farmworker Stream Forum. The Forum focuses on issues regarding the health of migrant and seasonal farmworkers. Although all applicants whose professions are related to migrant health qualify, priority will be given to those who provide service to farmworkers from the Midwestern states. FUNDING SUPPORT: Up to $500 per person. Funds are to be used for conference registration and /or travel expenses. A maximum of three (3) scholarships totaling $1,500 may be awarded per agency or organization, funds must be used to support 3 or more people. Funds are awarded on a reimbursement basis following the conference once attendance has been verified. LOGISTICS: The scholarship recipient will be responsible to register for the conference and make their own travel and hotel arrangements. Conference registration fees include: continental breakfast Thursday, Friday & Saturday, snacks during breaks on Thursday, Friday & Saturday, Friday evening reception, and Saturday lunch. SUBMISSIONS: Travel Scholarships are awarded to participants by professions and are selected through a committee process.
