Guest guest
It took me getting tinnitus and fibro to learn to say no. I would always agree to do something that I was asked to do when I didn't want to but I would do it anyhow. Now I know my limitations, I know what I can do and what I can't. I say no to a lot of things now and I don't worry as I used to do that it would make that person upset with me. If I am uncertain, I will say so and tell them that I will get back to them by a certain time to let them know if I can go or do what they wanted me to do. Saying no gives me a lot more time for myself and my husband. I used to cook chili in my cookoffs all summer. I don't any more. The heat gets to me and it is not fun when you are miserable and just want to go home. I told my friends at the beginning of summer that I would not be back cooking until October and they accepted that and I did not have to tell them every weekend that I was not going to cook. I learned to say no but it was the hard way. But I learned. Take care, Irene Books may well be the only true magic Alice Hoffman
