amitryptyline and weight gain?

My neurologist originally wanted to put me on amitryptyline for my

severe headaches (I also suffer from pseudotumor cerebri-- high

spinal fluid pressures). Anyway, he said that weight gain is a most

certain side effect. So, I chose not to take it, since my

pseudotumor is supposed to get somewhat better with weight loss.

Anyone found that to be true-- or does the relief of pain help you to

be more active?
