Guest guest
Today I got my lab results from blood taken Sat., 2/12. I've been taking 3/4 grain per day (1/2 grain AM and 1/4 grain PM sublingually) -- some Armour and some NatureThroid -- for the past 6 weeks. (actually for about a week and a half, I took 1 grain a day, but backed back off to the prescribed amount -- didn't want to deal with having problems with my lab tests and my Dr. -- I have Kaiser, and so far they've been working with me, though it's stressful for me.) TSH 1.5 (.2 - 5.5) Free T3 271 (230 - 420) Free T4 0.9 (.8 - 1.7) 6 weeks ago while taking 1/2 grain a day my results were: TSH 2.2 (.2 - 5.5) Free T3 258 (230 - 420) Free T4 1.0 (.8 - 1.7) 3 months ago, while on .025 Synthroid my results were: TSH 4.2 (.2 - 5.5) Free T3 213 (230 - 420) Free T4 1.1 (.8 - 1.7) Anti-TPO 153 (< 35) My Free T3 is going up, but is still in the lower part of the range; and my Free T4 is going down. Shouldn't that be going up? When I got the results from the Advice Nurse, she sent a message to the Endo to call me. My intent was to ask for a 1/2 grain increase -- especially since I did that myself on 2/13, the day after the blood tests. As of Saturday morning, my basal temp. was still running 96.6 - 96.8 every morning. Well, Sunday I increased from 3/4 grain to 1-1/4 grain. The first day I took 3/4 in the AM and 1/2 in the PM -- and while I had a lift a while after the morning dose, I felt really odd 3 - 4 hours later. So, what I've been doing since then is 1/2 grain in the AM, 1/4 grain a few hours later, and another 1/2 grain in a few more hours. Interestingly, within a day, my basal temp. went up to 97.1. (It's been in the same 96.6 - 96.8 range for 3 years that I know of. That's when I had reported it to my GYN who sent me to an Endo who wouldn't test me and said I wasn't Hypo -- and then last summer my Primary Care Physician did a bunch of lab tests and I showed up Hypo. 3 months of Synthoid before Armour; but until this past Monday, my basal temp. didn't budge. Less than an hour after getting my results, I got a call from a Dr. It turns out my Endo is out on medical leave and my Primary is out for 2 weeks, so another Dr. called me. She thought my results were just fine. I said I wanted an increase so bring my TSH down further and that I'd like the Free T3 toward the top of the range and the Free T4 up too. Also, I let her know my basal temp. on 3/4 grain was staying low, that I still had Hypo symptoms; and that I was wondering about getting an ultrasound of my thyroid -- since people have been commenting that I'm clearing my throat a lot, and it does feel full to me. Well, this Dr. suddenly decided she was going to forward my number on to the other Endo at the facility so I should hear from her in the next day or two -- unfortunately she's the one who would not even do labs, but told me I WASN'T Hypo three years ago.
