Guest guest
Hi again everyone, In a previous post, Tom Fenton mentioned that he was denied a transplant for various reasons, including BMI. I've done a little research on the Internet, and I'm getting mixed results: some articles report that BMI has no effect on transplant success, and other articles discuss the need for physicians to choose transplant recipients carefully, since BMI may cause complications after the surgery. Has anyone out there had a personal experience with this issue? My husband has a high BMI, and I'm worrying... Also, I'd like to thank everyone again for help with previous questions. This support board is wonderful! I am reading every post, and learning so much about the realities of PSC. I'll be honest, some of it has been very depressing, but at least I feel better prepared and informed about what we might face. And it is also very encouraging to read that most of you are controlling your symptoms and enjoying life. Alison B.
