Hi,

I just joined and thought I'd tell you all a little bit about

myself. I'm a twenty-five-year-old, engaged female. I had been

sick, what I thought was frequently (every other month) for about two

years, until 2002 began and I started my new job as and

Administrative Assistant for an oncology research company. January

2002, I got a cold, turned into bronchitis, got a little better, then

a week later broke out with hives from head to toe. Since then, the

hives still come and go, I'm always missing work, I have repeated

throat & respiratory infections, fevers(usually low-grade) and tired

all the time. My primary care physician keeps asking me what's going

on in my life that's stressing me. When all this started, I was

really happy and excited about my new job. There wasn't anything

going on in my life that was bothering me significantly. Then my

primary care doctor suggested that I find a religion and nurture my

spiritual side and I might feel better. Ok now there's something

going on in my life that's bothering me, my fiance just went get his

masters degree in England (I'm in the US)...but that wasn't an issue

when I started getting sick.

I FINALLY found a doctor that I saw a few weeks ago who diagnosed me

with CFS and possibly systemic yeast infection (test results take a

few weeks). This doctor has evaluated my diet and made

recommendations on what I should change. She also practises

hollistic medicine and has given me some supplements to help with my

energy levels...but it may take a few weeks before I notice anything.

I really wanted to join this group because I have too many people in

my life making me feel like I'm crazy. My primary care doctor and my

father especially. My father is always saying it's in my head.

Sometimes I know he's full of crap but sometimes I find myself asking

myself if I'm crazy.

Well I'll stop writing for now and look forward to reading future

messages.

Hey Jen!

I'm crazy and I am loving every moment of it!! I figure if everyone is resigned

to the fact that this disease is crippling and can tax the mental well-being,

then I am fine with it too!!

Besides, who would not be crazy to want to see a doctor just to be told it is

all in our heads. Fortunately for me, I have a few other diseases that help

support MY decision to be crazy and to deal with all the people who predispose

me with their quack cures and magic healing potions. So you see, maybe being

crazy ain't so bad afterall. In fact, I would much rather THEM proove they are

sane! hahha!!

Be good to yourself Jen. Work on your wellness and those in the peanut galleries

who have an answer for everything will take good care of themselves. After all,

the important people are the ones you love and the ones who love you back

unconditionally! Stay Golden!!

Always,
