Hello Mr Transplant List, my name's Chris! (Also question about live liver tx)

Well, as you can probably guess, i've been stuck ont he transplant list!

All seems to have gone a bit quicker than i imagined, was only

diagnosed 2 years ago this month!

Just a tiny bit worried and scared now (if you class quivering in my

boots as a tiny bit scared! haha!), but i know it's the right decision

and i've got a lot of faith in the liver unit that's looking after me

(St. ' hosp in Leeds, En-ger-land). They come across as an

extremely knowledgable, tight-knit group, and all the staff from

cleaners up to big boss doctor folk are nice and friendly!

Now the waiting begins!

The docs have decided that i'm suitable for a live liver transplant,

and at least 1 of my brothers and my mum are getting assessed to see if

they're suitable to donate to me. Has anyone on here had a liver

donated from a friend or family?

At the moment i'm feeling pretty much against getting a portion of one

of their livers, as i'm scared something might happen to one of them

because of me and them having to go through a procedure that they don't

have to!
