Guest guest
Hi Sherri, Well, I do have a history of autoimmune disease. I had polymyositis in my early 20's, which is " incurable " and relatively rare muscle disease. I went into remission and considered myself in great shape and quite healthy for the next 25 years. I'm now 48. I've also had eczema as a kid and still have problems with some rashes now and then. Also have Raynaud's. A couple years ago, while doing my regular walking and Nordic Tracking, I noticed I began having trouble with stamina and also fatigue. Just prior to this I had started Celexa (antidepressant) for perimenopause symptoms, and my husband I and I were temporarily separated for 4 months. (that IS traumatic, but I really didn't go " downhill " until after we were back together, happily). I developed some muscle weakness, sciatica, low back pain, hip pain, and exercise intolerance, to name a few things. Specialists decided I was not having a flare of the muscle disease, which I thought I was. Felt the same way as I did back then! Things have been up and down since. I am sleeping well and a lot. Take naps many days. I try to keep up with some exercise, but am weaker than I used to be. Some signs point to autoimmune/rheumatoid problems, but a rheumatologist DX'd me with fibro last Aug. I haven't been back to him since last Oct. The only things I can come up with re: my deteriorating health have been- the antidepressants, possibly getting the Lymerix vaccination prior to health problems (it has been pulled off market), I had my first root canal, and heading for menopause. My allergies have worsened, at times I have joint pain in symmetrical joints. My upper legs and hips bother me a great deal! I keep researching, and hoping....... I am not a happy camper with this
