Guest guest
--I am 30 and brush twice a day. About a month ago my front tooth started becoming sensitive to cold liquids, foods. I have never had this problem. The tooth has been hurting off and on for the past few weeks. I went to the dentist today and he said it looks like the tooth may be dying and asked if it has been hit. As far as I know it hasnt, I think I may have hit it with a pop bottle when I was young. Well I guess I will have to have a root canal. I dont even have a cavitiy in it. Anyone know anything about this? - In @y..., " JENNIFER ARNOLD " wrote: > Actually if I do anything I will probably just have them pulled and get a denture. I've already got an upper denture so all I have to do is get the lower ones done...just hope the dentist doesn't crack any of them getting them out. I got the upper done for $2000 (income tax return) so maybe come next years tax return I'll get the lower done...my teeth are all rotten anyway...I've already decided I'm not filling anymore...if I have a problem, out it comes. I brush my teeth twice a day and I will STILL have at least one cavity every time I go in for my checkups. I'm tired of putting money into these stupid teeth when they're just going to end up coming out eventually anyway. Does anyone else have problems with their teeth? It's probably just hereditary in my case...my mom has had dentures since she was 17 (she has pictures at age 4 and 5 with her teeth already starting to rot...and she wasn't eating sugar all the time...she was one of 6 kids and they didn't have money to buy junk food). At least I made it to age 30 before I needed the upper and now I'll probably get the lower next year at 32. > Sorry to ramble...just more curious than anything if this is just another of those things I can chalk up to the fibro or if it is just hereditary... > Jen > > Re: mercury fillings > > > > JENNIFER ARNOLD wrote: > > > > > I have a mouth full of mercury fillings and I want them out. Guest guest
I have had a couple of teeth 'die' and I had a root canal in one and had the other one pulled. They put some kind of tester on the tooth and the numbers kept going up and up and I didn't feel a thing. I guess with a 'live' tooth you're supposed to feel tingling after a couple of numbers up. I had the root canal done on the first one because it was towards the front but I had the second one pulled because it was in the back and therefore expendable in my opinion. $600 for a root canal or $40 to pull it...tough choice...LOL. And then 2 years later I had pain in the tooth I had a root canal in...I thought root canals were supposed to take care of the problem tooth forever??? Anyway, it was then that I just had them pull that tooth and all of the other uppers and get me a denture...figured it was going to happen sooner or later and the denture would be more cost effective in the long run. But I have a family history of bad teeth so I'm sure you won't have the same problems I have, especially since there is no cavity...probably just nerve damage. Good luck!
