I am newly diagnosed and have couple questions, tomorrow I will take my idodine pills for my uptake scan. What is this for? What are nodules? My sis was diagnosed 3 years ago about the same age I am now and she has never had this test done. I was told my level is .03 and the normal is .4. Funny thing is that I had a test to check my thyroid last summer and it was fine. I did quit smoking in October and that is when of course I started to gain weight, just thought it was becuause I was stuffing everything in my mouth. I am glad to know why I can't get any weight off, I just want to have my energy back and my hair LOL. Of course the DH doesn't understand me being " lazy " .
