Hey : I posted the following to another board earlier but I

wanted you to know how the appt went. As you can see from what I

posted I am not gonna get anywhere I believe:

What do you do if you believe your child has thyroid issues and the

tests

come back normal. I just came back from Endo with my son and she

doesnt

believe he has thyroid problems just from initial visit but did take

blood

for Free T4 and wants a bone density test run on him for his lack of

taking

in Calcium. I am not holding my breath on the test results, but I

did an

iodine test on him myself and the patch never lasted longer then 14

or 15

hrs I believe and his morning temp was 96.1 on average of a week of

testing.

So what are the answers? I mentioned the iodine test and she said

she

knew of it after all she is an Endocrinologist but when I asked to

have his

iodine levels tested she said conventional doctors (which she is)

dont do

that testing we would have to go to an alternative doctor for that.

She

tried to explain other things and how the TSH test was an accurate

testing

procedure (what I have read it is not) and I sort of lost her as my

son was

being totally obnoxoius and I couldnt really take in the rest of what

she

was saying. The blood work should be back in a few days and she said

she

will call me to discuss. Didnt even ask to have us make a second

appointment so I know where this is going.
