I told you all that I'd update you on how things develop with ADD. I started

medication for it exactly 2 weeks ago. Last week was a conference for my

daughters syndrome and was the most stressful week in the past few years for me.

I had one headache the whole entire week. I never cried once. My feet hurt

from being on them all day, but not aching up my legs. I was more alert and I

slept like a baby.

My Psychiatrist told me that my sleep study that I had a year and a half ago is

not accurate. He said that people with ADD do not sleep well, and do not handle

stress well, so therefore, they have a lot of symptoms from the lack of sleep

and muscle tension. The lack of sleep and high anxiety from ADD cause the

muscle tension and headaches that I have suffered with for years.

I didn't know whether or not to believe him until last week I realized that I

had not taken even a Tylenol during the most stressful week of this decade for

me. I have only taken Soma 2 times in the past month. My anxiety has gone

down. I can't fully explain it though. I am guessing that being treated with

medication properly for the ADD is helping me to cope and handle everything else

in my life. I don't have an explanation. I will see him again next week and

have many questions for him.

My fog is better, my energy level is better, my patience is better. I do think

that I have fibro, but can't help thinking that maybe fibro could be a result of

other stressful things going on in the body. Just from lack of sleep alone,

could kill a person. Maybe there is some common link to stress? We may not

think we are stressed either, but maybe we have a different threshold than other

people and so minor stress manifests itself all over the body. I can get severe

muscle tension and spasms, just from having a messy kitchen, or knowing I have

to get up early the next morning.

Anyway, just wanted to share and update you all. There is a book by Sari Solden

called " Women with Attention Deficit Disorder " and it is absolutely fantastic.

Even if you don't have ADD, it has wonderful information on organizing and

managing your life to make it less stressful and easier to handle. Might be

worth checking out in the library. It would be interesting to know if there is

a connection between fibro and stress, whatever the cause of stress may be.
