Guest guest
Tom, Hi. Welcome to the group. I'm sorry to hear you've been going through such a rough time. I'm glad you found us! I'm not sure there is a book on PSC...although you could always read Hussey's I'm Not Okay, You're Not Okay but That's Okay With God. It'll, at the very least, make you laugh out loud and the proceeds benefit PSC Partners (at least in part). Either or I can give you more info on how to order if you're interested. You asked about things that could help with symptoms. Which symptoms are you dealing with/trying to relieve? We're all so different that there really isn't a " standard " set of symptoms. Some of the things I've heard from doctors/psc patients/research, etc. that you can do to help include accupuncture, tanning (helps to relieve itching), Sam-E (helps with depression, I believe), reike, trying to keep a low-fat diet and keep an eye on your fat soluble vitamins as we tend to run low in them (things like A, D, K and calcium). Try to keep stress at a minimum (lol--right! I love when I'm told that one!) And one thing that I find helps me is trying to look on the positive side. I'm a big believer in laugh over cry and sometimes just choosing to laugh really can make things a bit better at least for the moment. Hopefully others will chime in with things to help, too!
