Guest guest
Yea, you're gonna get bashed. Someone who has been an active, exercise nut before this debilitating condition hit will resent the implication that they're just lazy. Do I believe our nation as a whole has gotten 'less healthy'? Yes, but you're painting with an awfully broad brush. Personally, I've worked out at a gym for almost 20 years. At the time this condition hit I was at the gym everyday before work (3 a.m.!) running 4 miles and lifting weights. It gave me the energy and stamina I needed to work my 12 - 16 hour a day job and still take care of my husband and 4 children when I got home. For the most part, I've had to give up the gym. One workout can devastate me physically for 2 weeks. I hate not working out! I feel like a slug! And this is on top of the fact that the medication I was taking (Effexor) eventually caused a 60 pound weight gain. This is not from eating the wrong things. My diet was fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, salads, chicken, etc. This wonderful condition that we share changes everybody's life in many ways, different ways. Hopefully it can change us in good ways as well. I know I'm more patient with other people's shortcomings. Of course, they may have only been shortcomings in MY eyes before!
