Guest guest
Suzanne had a stent put in on Monday, she is complaining about it hurting. She describes it as bearable. She doesn't have any of the signs of pancreatitus such as brown urine, fever etc. Is this common? Would motrin or any other pain reliever help? Guest guest
Hi , I've had two put in in the last six months both times I had pain....I didn't take anything the first time (they didn't offer) the second time the pain when away fast because I asked for something...they gave me Ciprofloxacin HCL...turns out i had a slight infection both times...I'd call the doctor right away and see if this could be Suzanne's issue. good luck! She doesn't have any of the signs of pancreatitus such as brown urine, fever etc. Is this common? Would motrin or any other pain reliever help? ========================== The one stent I had left me hurting the entire 5 weeks it was in me. The pain stopped as soon as it was removed, and there was no infection in my case. Like Suzanne, I described it as bearable, but it is constant and can be a bit nerve-wracking! I couldn't stand to wear anything with a waistband (like jeans) and so for those 5 weeks, I wore loose jumpers, or else just stayed in my nightgown and housecoat. Tell her to start her own new fashion trend! Check with her drs. before taking motrin, etc., since you don't want to further complicate anything.
