Guest guest
I haven't read this thread well, but wanted to state that even though my mother paid a huge price being on T4-only meds for most of her adult life, she never had osteoporosis that I know of. She was certainly qualified to have had it--her depression was severe enough that she opted for shock treatment, and her stamina was poor enough that she could never do what others did without suffering. She always had constipation. The latter three issues were certainly due to poor treatment with T4. Why she never got osteoporosis? I can see T4-biased, Synthroid-paid researchers taking someone like my mother and insisting that T4-only meds (or the lack of a complete treatment like Armour) do not contribute to osteoporosis, BECAUSE here is this woman who lived to age 84 without it, and having been on T4 most of her life. And they would be full of bull. You'd also HAVE to take into account excellent genes, that fact that she loved milk, that she religiously took calcium supplements, and ate like a nutritionist........and all the latter because she was quite lucky in her decisions since no one EVER suspected what we KNOW NOW about T4-only meds.
