Guest guest
The thing about the blood tests with cortisol amounts is that the best time for accuracy of them is about 8am. After that there accuracy drops off sharply until about midnight sometime when the cortisol range is set to half of that morning range. If he really thinks they are over active he should administer one more test at least to make sure, usually the cheapest and easiest test is a Dexamethasone Suppression Test. Try the following link to explain it a little more http://www.endotext.com/protocols/protocols1/protocolsframe1.htm Read the overview and the A section which is about cortisol levels and what test accuracy are. After you are done with that click on the Glucotoid excess link in the tall narrow window to the left that will take you to the Dexamethasone Suppression Test section were it will tell you how this test is performed and why it is performed, and also the correct way to perform it. Good luck. > > > > > > My doc said I had high cortisol and should start on supplements > to > > > help lower it.
