Guest guest
Hi, so I have been waiting whether to register for the PSC conference in Oslo or not. Waiting for how Eemeli's colonoscopy and ERC goes (pretty well, except for the findings: PSC has progressed from intrahepatic to extrahepatic, colon was pretty calm except for some swelling) and waiting for the results of the brushings and biopsies. Now we got the results of the brushings and it turns out that Eemeli's ducts have extremely active inflammation and the finding of the colon biopsy from the swollen part in the right side is so atypical that it has to be re-examined by pathologists and then discussed at a meeting before we know more. It being in the right side brings to my mind Dave R's message from Feb 23 about the Utrecht study, yikes. But I have to put in a good word for the endoscopic treatment used by Dr Farkkila: Eemeli has been visibly better after the ERC where Dr Farkkila dilated the extrahepatic ducts that had been narrowed since last year. It cannot be psychological: Eemeli was not as worried about the treatment as I was. The plan is to do the ERC once a year at least. And if it goes as well as this time, I think it is GOOD. I'd be very interested in the discussion in Oslo on " critical appraisal of endoscopic treatment " . Are there many here who have decided to go to the EASL monothematic PSC conference in Oslo? I will still wait to hear the results of Eemeli's colon biopsy and if it causes any action.
