Hi Kayse - Welcome to the fibro group. Sorry you are having problems.

This is the place to find some answers. Different things work for

different people. Yoga aggrevated my back but the meditation was

extremely beneficial. Massage therapy (gentle) helps as well as

myofascial stretching. Daily stretching important, hot showers in AM,

good diet, extra vitamins and minerals, and some find guifenesin

helpful and some find sleeping pills helpful (Elavil or ambien) But I

get zonked on meds. Exercise is imperative (can only tolerate walking

so far), and adequate rest is essential. Many people think there is a

correlation between insomnia and fibro. Many have sleep disorders - I

was just diagnosed with sleep apnea. Never had a clue - except I

couldn't sleep or stay asleep but never dreamed I stopped breathing

at night. One new online friend thinks fibro " is " a sleep disorder. I

know when I don't get restive sleep, the pain gets worse. That is

what I have found helps. I'm sure others will have suggestions. Drop

me a line at m.pfanstiel@... and visit

www.emergingcourageous.com for some phenomenal stories of life's

experiences, overcoming difficulties and living courageously.

Lovingly, Star

Thanks for your warm welcome. I'm trying to read the previous posts,

but it will take a while.

One thing that already puzzles me. Many have referred to the fairly

consistent symptoms they suffer. Is fibro. a 24/7 thing or can one

have bouts of it? My symptoms are not constant.

Other than that, I share most of the pains and complaints that I see

mentioned: Pain in legs, back, migraines, allergies, sleep problems

(what IS a full nights' sleep?). I was diagnosed with this 6 years

ago and put on antidepressants, which did nothing.

Has anyone had any good results with Celebrex, Vioxx or Bextra?
