Guest guest
Ensure tastes kind of like a milkshake, it has a thick taste and is very rich. The only thing I don't like about it is it has a metallic taste (IMO). When I can't get out of bed to even get a piece of bread...I drink one in place of a meal--I wouldn't be able to get anything else, maybe some saltines.....there's a BETTER tasting drink similar to ensure, you can buy it at Gordons it's sold frozen by the case, it comes in a cardboard milk carton-I can't remember the name of it, and doesn't have the metallic taste, and it has 450 cal per 8 oz--it tastes great (just like a milkshake). I also have tried pediasure (in the can), and boost, i'd rather not have to drink them but it's better than starving to death...these work great for me, when I can't get out of bed and if I did i'd be too tired to put food in my mouth, and if I could get solid food--i'd probably get nauseated and throw it up! My 7 year old loves ensure plus vanilla flavor. I get vanilla, chocolate, and coffee flavors...I have tried eggnog, butterpecan, strawberry, black walnut and don't really like those flavors too much. I have tried vegatarian diets many, many times over the past 20 years, and I definitely don't feel any better--last Oct--I gave it a try again, wondering whether it would put a stop to the fibro flare that was coming on. I thought my IBS and my stomach would literally EXPLODE, it took me 3 months to settle it down after 3 weeks of a vegetarian diet! Lentils almost put me in the ER--and found out very early on I can't eat beans in any form...even soy, eggs and raw dairy products are out also...i'd love to be able to eat a vegetarian diet, it sounds like a great idea, but not for me! Some of my best friends are vegans/or they don't eat land dwelling animals. -2 kmnewberry@... _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.
