Hello fellow copers of FM.

My name is Sally and live in the UK. I joined this group a couple of weeks

ago, but guess what? I was too tired to start posting to the group!!

Anyway, here is my questionnaire.

Age range: 38

Male/female: Female

What are the symptoms? Tiredness, muscle and joint aches, difficulty

concentrating, vomiting, IBS, insomnia, tachycardia, restless leg,

Has you illness been diagnosed? only when I lived in Sweden, but not

officially in the UK my home country.

How long did you suffer before you got help? Help? What help?

Is there a time that you can remember when it started? When I was 21 after a

stomach bug.

Some of us have found lack of exercise we are overweight. Have you found

this to be a problem also? I am not overweight and never have been, but I

have put on a stone (14 pounds) that I can't shift.

Are you on disability? In UK we get incapacity benefit for long term

sickness. I have applied for Disability component in the past but have been

turned down.

If you are any pointers for others trying to get on disability?

What have you found that helps ease the pain, warm baths, medications

etc.? no

Do you have sleep problems? How do you deal with it? I tend to want to

sleep in the day, but I avoid doing this so that I can sleep at night.

Do you have family that understands your illness? My family do not

understand or believe me. I have joined this group in the hope that there

may be some info I can give to them to help them believe/understand me.

Some have found certain foods causes problems with CFS or Fibro, have

you? . It tends to change! Sometimes I can't drink coffee, then a while

later, I am okay with it again!

What type of Doctor have you found that has helped you the most? The

wonderful GP in Sweden! None in UK!!
