I brush my teeth twice a day and still have at least one cavity every time I go in for a cleaning I have problems also with not being able to tell which tooth is bothering me...and the pain comes and goes so by the time I would make an appt at the dentist it wouldn't be bothering me anymore. I DID finally last year get an upper denture plate and I absolutely love it. I haven't had any problems with it whatsoever and most of my mouth pain is gone. Luckily my lower teeth aren't nearly as bad as my uppers were but I DO occasionally have pain in my upper jaw that 'feels' like tooth pain but can't be since I don't have any up there anymore Just some of my wandering pain I guess...it just hops around here and there and goes wherever it pleases. Guest guest
Irene, I've worn a $240 bite plate for 3 years, and don't miss it when I don't wear it. I haven't noticed my grinding my teeth and i've had my family watching me when i'm sleeping to see if they notice me grinding my teeth, and they haven't! I got trigeminal neuralgia very shortly after having my FIRST porcelain filling. Since then i've only had the porcelein fillings put in. My dentist has not done anything, but make a bite plate, file my back teeth down to nothing, and i'm puting a stop to that, as he seems to think that if he grinds enough away, the pain will go away, and it hasn't, he's just nearly ruined a couple of my back 2 molars....he's checked and checked for cracked teeth and has found nothing, he has not even prescribed anything or suggested take regular strength tylenol for the pain. I get the impression that he can't find the cause, and isn't willing to treat what he can't see. The problem is that I can't localize the problem to any one particular tooth, it seems to be in the area of 3 or 4 teeth. I used to be so proud to be 37 and still have all my natural teeth-I took good care of them all my life-my family has not had very good luck keeping their teeth...now-after going through this, i'd be willing to get them all yanked and have dentures. -2 kmnewberry@... _________________________________________________________________ Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
