Guest guest
Hi Barb, , and anyone else who can help. I have searched the archives and found 5 posts on the Herbalife topic. I wanted to know if anyone has heard anything lately regarding these products? Today I am writing as a concerned coach. Cold Fusion the new 'hot' dieting trend in Duluth. There are several stores scattered all over town. The cocktail they offer is a shot of aloe vera, about 16 oz of green tea, then a smoothie with the Herbalife Nutrition Powder in it. All of this is for $5. They have grabbed the attention of a lot of the athletes at the University of Minnesota Duluth, including some of my soccer and hockey athletes. I know these products are not regulated, and may contain substances in very toxic levels. I know that whatever they write on the jar does not necessarily mean it is, or isn't in there. I am trying to compile some research studies and credible information to present to my athletes. Athletes take these shakes because it is convenient, and because the protein powder gives them an easy dose of protein to help rebuild muscle. However, I do not believe in this pyramid scheme and I am trying to teach them there are natural and more healthy ways to get their nutrition that are inexpensive. Plus, I do not want that 'crap' building up in their bodies when everyday they already need to deal with enough toxicity and acidity from training. Would you happen to have any further studies or information to support the toxicity of Herbalife besides those in the archives? Have you heard anything else from your colleagues? Thank you to anyone who can help, nne nne Duluth, Minnesota UC 2002, PSC 2008
