Hi ,

The doctors I saw thought I was crazy when I first started trying to get help with this.......I didn't know how to explain it !.......finally, after I was diagnosed with Lupus, one of the Doctors was also a 'Specialist on Sleep Disorders' when I started my lame explainations on what was keeping me from Sleeping at night.......He interrupted me with ......," Oh , yes, You have 'Restless Leg Syndrome'......I have a lot of patients with it.........It can make you crazy, can't it ? " ......I actually started crying cause someone finally knew what I was trying to explain !!

I had to take another of the Carb/Levo tablets last night.......I'm so glad I finally found something that really works ! I had been prescribed everything from Tranquilizers, to Muscle relaxers, to sleeping pills to antidepressants.

I hope your medication works as well for you as mine does for me.!

BTW.....I finally got all the paperwork for the compaint against my PCPs clinic plus the letter you helped me with all filled out and in the mail tonight.

THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR HELPING ME WITH THE LETTER !

TO LYNN / RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME

Lynn,

' Restless Leg syndrome ' is when you try to sleep and your legs get this awful creepy, crawly, feeling that won't go away untill you move them.......it can go on all night, and interrupt your ability to sleep! Mine is so bad at times I just wind up getting back up and down All night long ......or just crying!

But since my doctor put me on Carb/Levo, which is a medication used in the treatment of Parkinson's Disease.......but the dose I am taking is very small dose...I actually have only taken it about a week , then I haven't been bothered with the Restless Legs any more. .......so I just keep it on hand just in case my legs start wanting to 'Dance all night' again

WHAT IS RLS?

FAQ

RLS Books & Articles

Restless Legs Syndrome is an overwhelming urge to move the legs usually caused by uncomfortable or unpleasant sensations in the legs. The sensations have the following features:

Occur during periods of inactivity Become more sensitive in the evening and at night Are relieved by movement of the limb Often cause difficulty staying or falling asleep, which leads to feelings of daytime tiredness or fatique May cause involuntary jerking of the limbs during sleep and sometimes during wakefulness

If you do have restless legs syndrome (RLS), you are not alone. Up to 8% of the US population may have this neurologic condition. Many people have a mild form of the disorder, but RLS severely affects the lives of millions of individuals.
