Guest guest
Cindi, She just started going to an endo at Lahey Clinic in Boston, so not sure yet what treatments he's going to prescribe, but she's currently on Levoxyl, which I think is just a different brand of $ynthroid. I joined a Prolactinoma group so I could ask them if any of them were hypothyroid, too, but only 26 members and posts are several days apart! Don't know if they'll answer or not, but from reading their posts, they are all being treated with meds (Clomid, Parlodel and most recently Dostinex) to lower the prolactin serum levels - the only way to get rid of the tumor seems to be surgically. I think I'll try to convince her to ask for Armour, but I know she has felt terrible for a long time, and has been being mis- and undertreated by the Endos here in Maine and may not be open to something new, because she really liked the guy at Lahey - and he told her the endos here are all quacks! But he might be willing to put her on Armour, because he's in his 70's and probably used to prescribe it years ago! I'll have to find out more about what they plan to do for her - thanks for helping and giving me more questions to ask!
