I think I hate my job

I think I hate my job. I work in an office and it is harped upon to

look professional. I work as an assistant to an engineering

department. I love the guys I work with, and hope they like me

working for them. Here is the issue, and what would you do? One of

the girls in the accounting department has been leaving lip prints on

the " window " to one of the managers in my department. She is snippy

about that because I told her manager and asked that it be stopped

(she is so witchy if you talk to her in person regarding such things,

so did not want the stress of talking to her in person). So she

decides to leave lip prints on this guys whiteboard instead! Again,

I show her manager, and he says he will be talking to her about it.

Seems my manager thought there was nothing wrong with this, but then

sounds like he is flirting with her (sexual induendo's in email,

etc). He cannot see the big deal about this. We have important

customers and VIP's of vendors that come back in our department

weekly. What are they to think?

Do you think I am out of line and it is not big deal? I am trying to

look out for the company. Now, she is calling me a *itch behind my

back, talking to the guys in my department and telling them what a

whitch I am, and that I have a non-fun attitude.

We are having a department dinner on Tuesday, but I sure do not feel

like going and sitting there with my manager and be all smiles. At

least this guy is not my direct boss. My direct boss told me to

handle it the best way I saw fit.

Again, what would you do? Am I out of line? I don't need this kind

of stress!!!!! I have been with this company for over 5 years, but

if they like this behavior, I need to work elsewhere. My buddy from

here is going to a new job after Labor Day and I told her if she ever

needs an assistant, please keep me in mind and I am out of here!
