Guest guest
Hi all Someone mentioned about watching fruit consumption with candida overgrowth. This is both a genuine concern and misleading, which is good news for fruit lovers!=) Why? Well, the main watchword with candida is fermentation. Avoid anything that will ferment in the gut. Those of you who practice food combining are already well on the way to seeing the end of this and this is the key to correct fruit consumption. Simply, fruit should be eaten on an empty stomach and it will not then ferment and go on to feed candida. By itself, fruit is not problematic with yeast conditions as people have been known to deal with the problem permanently by eating an all fruit/juice diet and the condition has gone in about 6 weeks! So, it can hardly feed it if it all went under those circumstances.=) The solution, have fruit for breakfast and as a starter for each meal leaving about 20 mins before the next course. As long as you combine your lunch well, (keep concentrated starches and proteins separate - saves a LOT of digestive energy and distress), you can have fruit as a starter for your evening meal too. Also cuts down on the " need " for dessert. Try it - you'll like it!=) Love and cantaloupe Elisabeth
