I have tried Rifampin 2 different times in the past 5 years. The first time I

was so paranoid about the side-effects that I think I mentally blocked it from

helping me. I took it for 3 weeks with no results. I then tried it again last

year. After 2 weeks I noticed a slight improvement in the intensity of itching

(note, intensity...itching never went away), but after 1 month it wasn't working

anymore. I then tried the fentanol patch...it helped stop about 90% of the

itching....but OH the side effects including the dose coming into the skin too

fast. I was on that about 5 months...and after dozing off during my drive to

and from work as well as while at work, I decided I couldn't live like that

either.
