Guest guest
Hello! I'm into my second week on Armour (no functioning thyroid gland due to RAI 20 years ago) and I've increased my dose to 2 grains now. I think I'll continue to go up 1/2 a grain until I get to 3 then hold for 6 weeks, get a new FT3/FT4/TSH done and reevaluate. I'm trying to figure out how to split up my dose. I feel pretty brain dead in the mornings and have a hard time getting going. So far I've been taking half my dose around 6am and the other half around noon. I was toying with the idea of either taking 2/3 of it in the morning to try to get my levels a little higher, or perhaps it'd be smarter to take it before bed? Although I have been having a little trouble sleeping since I changed thyroid meds, so I'm afraid that pre-bedtime might mess me up. Any suggestions? Guest guest
Actually taking some at bedtime seems to help many of us sleep better so maybe that would be a good time. *Artistic Grooming * Hurricane, WV Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, " You're next. " They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals

Yeah, I've been undertreated probably ever since my RAI 20 years ago. I had " normal " TSH, if you consider 2-ish normal and my FT3 was below the range. No wonder I felt like crud, eh? My FT4 is pretty good though. I'm probably still under-medicated but that's because I'm slowly increasing my armour dose. I'm only on 2 grains and I figure that 3 grains is going to getting closer to my working range. I intend to go see a hormone doctor at some point, like Rouzier in Palm Springs, and I'll ask him to check out my adrenals. Is there anything in the meantime I can do to help them out?
