constipation problems and a possible solution...

I LOVE cheese and I've been lucky enough not to have problems with that in

general. However, with some of the meds I've taken (Fentanyl and Kadian,

especially), I've had terrible bouts with constipation. One night I

seriously considered going to the ER because I was in so much pain.

My pain doc told me to start taking Senna tablets, which are natural

laxatives. They are found in the same aisle with Metamucil and Dulcolax. I

buy the CVS brand, which are a lot less expensive than Sennakot (or however

you spell the name-brand). I take 2 a day and a 6-month supply was less

than $15.

He said that, with it being a chronic problem, he really didn't want me

taking the chemical type. As long as I take 2 Senna tablets a day, I have

no more problems. Of course, it might not be the best solution for

everyone, so check with your doc and use your best judgment...

I'm exactly the same way! I love Tabouli salad and, when I make it, that's

what I eat for every meal until it's all gone. Other times, it's tuna fish

or spinach salad... Wonder how Swiss chard tastes in salad. Missy, have

you tried it that way yet? LOL
