When we take antibiotics it kills off good bacteria that keeps the yeast in check. Unless you reestablish the good bacteria, the yeast can overgrow. Yeast will first proliferate which is just multiply. After a while it can grow and it actually sends out tentacles like roots. That is what you see with toenail fungus. One of the problems with yeast is it's waste byproducts. These can create bad reactions in some people. Just like you can have athlete's foot, crotch itch, toenail fungus - you can have other overgrowths of fungus in one particular area of the body. So not you will not necessarily have the exact same symptoms as another person with fungus overgrowth. Treating yeast overgrowth has been successful in helping with fibromyalgia and CFS but many doctors only find that it cures some, helps others, and it not a total cure for everyone. I was put on Adderall. I dont see much change yet, though I have a little bit more energy. I guess it can take up to 4 weeks to see the full effects. This doctor told me that Fibro is caused by yeast in your body and if you want to get rid of it, you need to go on this diet. He also put down my pain management doctor because all he was doing for me was anti-depressants and pain killers. Personally I dont believe this yeast thing, because if you look at his web site, he says it can help with all different things including autism. So from my understanding if this yeast causes Fibro and autism, then we should have both, right? The main way alternative health practitioners are treating CFS and Fibromyalgia is to treat everything that could be bothering the body to reduce the toxic load. Hopefully, if the load is lightened the body can fight off whatever is actually causing the problem. So they treat food allergies, get rid of pollutants in the environment, yeast infections, change the diet, prescribe more sleep, meditation, yoga, detox the body - get rid of heavy metals (mercury toxicity causes many symptoms similar to CFS), etc. Ask your doctor to show you why he thinks it causes Fibro.
