Whenever I get a filling, I always bring up the subject of mercury filling

poisoning me (I don't really think it is) but it gets my dentist all fired

up! I was the first patient he had that demanded the white fillings (only

because my daughter thought the silver fillings were cavities when she saw

in the back of my mouth!). He didn't want to do the white fillings, but I

have had MORE trouble with my teeth since I switched over--not sure why, but

I developed trigeminal neuralgia in the area wherever he had put a white

filling in (and taken out or replaced a mercury one). This seems to develop

gradually in the area that the fillings have been replaced--I have brought

this up to my husband, that maybe the dentist is intentionally drilling too

far up my teeth into the root...just to prove his point -that there is more

problems with the white fillings (I can't spell that word--anal, analgram

something er other) and less with the mercury.

Hi, I didn't see the initial post but saw a couple responses. Before

being diagnoised w/ fms, they thought I might have polymyositis.

Some causes of it, can be mercury poisoning. I asked my dentist

about this and having them removed. He was very informative. He

said that first of all, 99% of feelings are made up of several

ingredients, mercury is one of them. Mercury is a component of

any " silver " filling. It helps keep it together/bonded. He

explained that if your filling is disinegrating and coming apart, you

won't be " poisoned " from the mercury. It is only at that point that

you could be " poisoned " from it. If you don't have any fillings

coming apart, you should be fine. Ask your dentist. Just the info.

I found out. nne
