Guest guest
FM/CFS can certainly be triggered by mono, which is the classic Epstein-Barr virus of chronic fatigue. But dozens of other infections can trigger it too. Lyme for example. Anyway, in any infection situation, increasing the immune system is just as important as treating the symptoms. By eliminating the cause you lose the symptoms. The best immune system increaser is undenatured whey isolate plus selenium (200 mcg/day). If you increase the body's glutathione with the the undenatured whey, infection has a hard time spreading, and is eventually reduced. By going to a high-protein diet with the whey you will also lose weight by gaining muscle, which burns fat. More on glutathione at: http://members.shaw.ca/widewest/HMS-90.html The other thing is that this may be an orthodox crowd, but Kim asked for alternatives so... I personally know a few people who eliminated mono (and Lyme) symptoms by using an effective germicide called colloidal silver. CS is non-toxic, but kills 650 different micro-organisms, so it's broad-spectrum enough to be effective without knowing exactly what the infection was. There's a colloidal silver discussion group at: http://escribe.com/health/thesilverlist/index.html best regards, Duncan Crow > Seems to be a corrolation between mono and fibro.
