Tom just called me with some bad news. They've diagnosed him with a

MRSA infection. This is an antibiotic resistant staph infection. I

don't know if it is localized or systemic. The doctors will treat it

with antibiotics. I don't know if this has been causing his other

symptoms...they don't really fit a MRSA diagnosis as far as I can tell.

Anyway, people will now have to wear gowns when they enter his room. I

assume this means he'll be in the hospital for awhile. Ironically he

probably caught the infection because he was in the hospital. I'll let

you know more when I hear anything.Kathy
