High Dose Urso

Hello All- I just wanted to throw in my doctor's 2 cents here. I

finally met with my hepatologist last week. He had been on vacation

for all of November. I had e-mailed him the article and we

discussed it during my appointment. I really respect my doctor. I

know he is not God, but he is very smart and very reasonable. I am

currently taking 1500 mg per day and I weigh 130 pounds. My

doctor's thoughts on the presentation were that they were just

that...a presentation, and that until it is published we can't

jump. He said that they hear all the time about a new wonder drug

or a study here or a presentation there and that it is foolish to

jump before they know for sure that it is valid. He said there is

significant data to show that high dose Urso can be effective. So I

am choosing to stay on the high dose urso for now. And....we

recently found out that I am pregnant (with number #3). I have read

that several women on these boards with PSC have had healthy

pregnancies and babies and that is definitely my prayer.
