Guest guest
Hi all, In my quest to get used to now living alone, I'm having trouble figuring out things to do by myself other than walk the dog,(not really by myself since she is with me), or go to a movie, I'm kind of at a loss right now. I haven't been on my own in 11 years, and before that I was a work-aholic...and I don't want to go back to that. So...any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks,
Guest guest
- Oh, to have that problem.....LOL....I'm not discounting your predicament but rather envying your situation. As much as I love my family, I would love for them just to go away...for a little while. Just long enough for a nap. Now, back to business. I think you should focus on resting and pampering yourself first. Then when that is done, maybe look into taking some fun classes. I'm starting one for cake decorating tonight. Maybe a class on stained glass or gourmet cooking? Hubby and I are going to try a cooking class together. That should be interesting! I've heard meditation is really good for chronic illnesses as well. Several good books I bet would be a treat too. Ah...the possibilities! Now, if things get really desperate....maybe Deanna can make you a moderator (we keep all of them hopping!) OR better yet - you could make a nice stained glass piece for each member of this wonderful group. Me first, of course, since I suggested it! LOL Seriously, I know this is a big transistion for you (as it would be for anyone.) I was divorced 8 years ago (today to be exact) and I remember sitting alone and thinking " okay, now what? " Things do get easier, you learn more about yourself and actually concentrate on what YOU want, like, dislike, etc. instead of having to always compromise and put others first. Enjoy your freedom and love yourself. You'll make an even better life for yourself and will be a better person to eventually share with someone again.
