Hi! I have been on Prednisone for three years now. I have been told

by all of my doctors you should never go off prednisone cold

turkey. I do not know the reason for that but maybe a pharmacy could

help you. I am hopefully going out of it sometime soon and

they reduced mgs. gradually, five each week.

Pain is here again as well as morning fevers but they say it's part of

it all.. I have not had puffy eyes but on my annual eye exam dr. told me

I have now too high pressure on my right eye and I'm scheduled for an

emergency visit to a glaucoma specialist, courtesy of Mr. Predni...

He explained that Prednisone dries the eyes, makes us vulnerable

for eye infections.... my humble advice, get your eyes checked.

Prednisone effects linger in one's body for different periods of time,

fom two or three months to a year ( so I have been told)

Take care!

-- QUESTION---puffy eyes...prednisone?

HI all,I have a question. I was on 40 mg prednisone for 7 days and then 80 mg prednisone for 7 days and have been off (cold turkey) for about 10 days now. I've noticed a lot of my side effects (cheek pain, puffiness, appetite, weight gain) have subsided and my water retention is much improved if not gone??? But my eyes are still quite puffy, not just in the morning but all day and they get worse at night and of course when I wake up in the morning. Is this just a lingering side effect from the prednisone that will clear up?? If so, how long does it usually take?? Any help from anyone who may have experience in this area would be much appreciated!! Thank you very much and have a happy day!ee"The LUPIES Store" Come check out our store...http://www.cafepress.com/thelupies"The LUPIES Web Page"http://www.itzarion.com/lupusgroup.html"The LUPIES online photo albums!"
