Guest guest
There's not really much new to report. They weren't able to do any of the procedures today because Chris's INR (blood clotting factor) was high which means his blood is not clotting well. They've given him a couple units of plasma and there are a couple more ordered before the night is over. Hopefully that will do the trick and they will at least be able to put the drain in tomorrow. He is in A LOT of pain because of all of the pressure from the excess fluid. He's not been able to eat or drink much either. I wasn't there when Dr. Fridell came in this morning but Chris's mom was. Apparently he said whatever the 'problem' is, is easily fixable and that it's a good thing was admitted when he was or it could have been really bad. I guess that's one reason they make you go to clinic twice a week! said that the dr did say his numbers looked better today. I think the main things right now are getting rid of this fluid which the drain will do, and getting him rehydrated which is a tricky combination. He needs fluids but too much too quickly and it all ends up in his abdomen. Hopefully he won't be there very long this time....but I want them to do whatever they need to do to fix the problem and get him well! Hopefully tomorrow his INR will be better and they can put the drain in. That should relieve the pressure which will relieve the pain. And he'll be sedated for it so at the very least he'll be out of it most of the day. Thanks for your continued prayers. Keep them coming and I'll update tomorrow!
