Guest guest
Thanks for all of the words of encouragement! They weren't able to do any of the procedures today because his INR was really high. He'd already had 2 units of plasma when I left and was supposed to get a couple more tonight. Hopefully that will help and he'll at least be able to get the drain tomorrow. He's been in A LOT of pain from all of the excess fluid pushing on everything. The dr told his mom that they know what the problem is and it's easily fixable but that he's lucky he was admitted when he was or it could have been really bad. They're still talking about doing the liver biopsy once his INR is better and they've changed their mind about the PTC. They're planning on doing a regular ole ERCP instead, but again, have to get his INR better. The problem gets to be, he's still pretty dehydrated but every ounce of fluid he gets is being dumped right into his belly. His blood pressure was better today (104/75) but I suspect some of the low blood pressure issues is because of the dehydration. Hopefully once the drain is in it will help with all of that. I know and expected their to be some bumps along the way. He's just tired of hurting and not feeling well and wants to be better NOW. We've all told him that it's just going to take time and that some bumps along the way are to be expected but he still gets discouraged. He's really in the best place he can be though.....and I don't have to pack his incision anymore! LOL He keeps telling me I need to go to nursing school. I told him NO thanks! I don't like taking care of him and I love him!
