Guest guest
I have not posted in 6 weeks or so, I went hiking for a weekend, and since that time, I have been at about pain level 7, have not slept more than one hour at a time, and last night tried to cook hot dogs and macaroni and cheese and by the time I got it to the table, I had to go to bed, as I could not even put a fork to my mouth--which has been happening most every day now. I went to my GP today (the 4th time i've seen her in 9 months), and she said for the 4th time " the treatment for fibromyalgia is nsaids and physical therapy " , and added wellbutrin (I already take zoloft), and gave me 6 pills and to take one a day--called bextra (a new nsaids, that didn't do a thing). My husband has said that the family can't take this anymore.....my insurance won't cover a rheumatologist--and the rheumatologist won't take me as a self-pay, I can't get to a new (GP type) doctor for at least 6 months, and i'm afraid by then i'll be nearly bedridden. As I can barely drive anymore, and can only stay up about 15-20 minutes at a time, without becoming overwhelmingly tired.... I don't know what to do, i've seen doctor after doctor for the past 14 years and have taken every nsaid, psychiatric drug and antidepressant, which hasn't helped a bit.....and I don't know how long I can keep going just by my will to force myself to function through the pain and fatigue. I told the doctor today that the treatment was no better than it was in the 17th century, and she said 'yes it is, we have medications', maybe I should've said her treatment FOR ME is no better....
