The use of LINKS - From list owner

Hi. It has always been our policy that we do not allow links. I have been

letting this slide a bit, because the links were few and far between...I

don't just mean links to businesses, but to other fibro sites, and unrelated

sites as well.

Suddenly, in the past 3 weeks or so this board has become LINK FEST.

Folks...if there is something you would like to post, you may cut and copy it

from another site and post it on an email to our group...No more links

please. The major reasons for this is:

Viruses can come from links. I have only had one virus come through our

board ever. It was through a link in someone's address book. I would like

to keep it that way.

and

SPAM can come from clicking on those links. Alot of times when you click on

a link you are automatically subscribed to that list or service. Maybe to

some people that is ok...I receive over 400 emails a day, so to me it is a

gigantic annoyance. They then sell your email address to others so that they

too can harrass you. I hate junk mail. I hate links.

So, as I stated earlier...cut and paste to email. If not, moderated mail

fest will begin.
